Fit, Flourishing & Fly Girls Empowerment Summit • Two-day event brought to Greater Cleveland through combined efforts of Western Reserve (OH) Chapter and Cleveland (OH) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, HEAL

Academy and the BET Foundation, Inc. • Over 400 girls and their parents benefited

• Summit exposed girls to educational workshops on nutrition, body image/self-esteem, peer pressure/violence prevention, community advocacy, leadership development, and reproductive health. • Summit included a parent’s track that addressed the topics covered in the girls’ track; The focus was to increase communication between child and parent Confronting the Achievement Gap Forum • Western Reserve (OH) Chapter and Cleveland (OH) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated partnered with The Kettering Foundation to present public forum focused on Confronting the Achievement Gap • Education Linkages Signature Project brought together over 125 educators, parents, students, and community stakeholders to collectively raise the level of discussion on this critical issue • Sponsors included Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland, Alcoa Cleveland Works, Pearson Curriculum Group, Cuyahoga Community College, and the Washington Koen Media
